2) Pure Capitalism – We need to bring back a purer form of capitalism and let it run it's course more freely. We are really becoming a socialized country with the government wanting to baby-sit all of us and place unnecessary laws and regulations on everything under the sun. If you think about it we are really moving toward a more communist type of government. Communism, the more offensive name interchangeable with socialism, is a dirty to word to most Americans but don’t discount anything when you have people proposing a socialized type of health care. I believe that we can move the other direction and get better results. Open the systems up and let a more pure form of capitalism drive the costs of health care down. The people, the majority, won't have anything less than quality affordable health care if the government gets out of the way and lets the market do its thing.
2) Individual Freedom – Each day we become less and less American as we allow our government to infringe upon our individual rights. The patriot act is a contradiction in terms; there is nothing patriotic about taking away an American's privacy, individual rights or freedom. Most Americans would rather be dead than be watched like big brother and have their rights trampled on all in the name of "safety." The notion of “safety” is highly over rated and way over used. There are many things that are not safe yet we want to do them and that is our choice and right. We don’t need more government organizations like the TSA wasting our time and money at the airport. It is a joke to think that anyone could actually stop a motivated assailant. 911 was a bad and sad historical event but we are way over reacting to the actions of a few lucky motivated American hating individuals, they got lucky. We have to keep things in perspective. Do we lock down Virginia Tech and occupy it with our military because one disturbed person shoots a bunch of innocent students? This is in essence what we have done since 911. We flipped out and started a war/police action that we can’t win or benefit from, we destroyed our individual freedom and rights with the patriot act, we made air travel a silly tedious process loaded with a false sense of security, we allowed our economy to be pushed around, we reached the pinnacle of hypocrisy at Guantanamo. Does anyone really think that a killer can’t bring another plane down? We have to get some guts and take care of ourselves and bring down problems as they pop up, we don’t need to be babysat in the name of safety. We need to reduce controlling laws dramatically, and increase individual freedom and enforce logical existing laws much better.
3) Taxes & Debt – We need to cut taxes dramatically and create a simple flat income tax that can be filed in 1 minute for everyone or eliminate filing and simply have it deducted as you get paid, forget the back and fourth of tax returns. We need to eliminate at least 75% of the IRS employees. We need to balance our budget and keep it that way. Our government wonders why many Americans fall into the debt trap when our own government is leading the way to the tenth power, they are masters of debt and fiscal irresponsibility. We spend like a drunken sailor on leave.
4) Health & Environment - America needs to make health care or simply "health" our top priority and this category equally includes the health of the environment since you can't be healthy in an unhealthy environment. We all have to admit, without health we have nothing. Top priority should be given to dramatically reduce solid waste, pollutants, increase recycling, increase water quality, protect forests domestic and abroad, improve transportation with train systems like Japan and promote electric vehicles and other new clean transportation technology. Our own car companies are getting their butts kicked while we are suppose to be the leaders in technology. We need to get back on track and show the world how to make efficient, clean, fun, comfortable automobiles that are environmentally sound.
5) Education – Lets put America in its rightful place on top in terms of the most highly educated population on the planet. Hand and hand with "Health" as a top priority comes Education. Education and Health will be the most important topics on our agenda. With out education we cannot achieve all the other things that make life worthwhile. Education is also the foundation of health, and health as we all know it everything, without it nothing else matters. I’m not suggestion that we all need to be Harvard grads, I am simply saying that we need to insure that we deliver as much education as humanly possible and allow everyone and anyone to absorb as much as they desire. With knowledge comes better decisions and increased opportunity and intern a better quality of life for everyone. It will be impertitive that we expose our young people to many other cultures and countries so that they learn to accept and apreciate other ways of life.
6) Iraq war/police action- Pull out yesterday! If for no other reason, we can't afford it. It is putting us into HUGE debt and burning up tremendous resources that we could apply to so many other productive areas in need. It is wasting young lives both in KIAs and injured, for what? When we look back it will all seem so wasteful. We can't accomplish anything by shoving our American agenda down other people’s throats. I will always ask everyone to put themselves in the shoes of the people we try to "manage", how would you like it? On an even simpler basis, use a personal analogy right in your neighborhood with a neighbor. Could you be successful imposing your beliefs on your neighbor or could they be successful imposing their beliefs on you? It ain't gonna happen, not in America; we aren't having it so how do we expect people around the world to accept it? I hate to say it but we are not accomplishing anything except for poking the beehive and breeding more hate for Americans. Reverse the scenario and see how we would like it if Sadam marched into DC and hunted down President Bush and handed him over to the democrats to do what they really want to do, how would we react? We would be staging “terrorist” ambush attacks day and night until the oppressor left with his ass in his hand. Americas were born out of “terrorism” how did we defeat the British? We fought guerilla style or “terrorist” style to defeat the most powerful empire of the time, which is what the underdog does and what they have to do.
7) Military and engaging in war- Our military will be shrunk dramatically in size but built up in technology and focus. Our young men and women in uniform will ONLY be deployed when there is a clear and obvious direct threat to our boarders. For actions like the current Iraq police action, I believe that we can create a separate new "world police" force that is made up equally from the all-stars of all our allied forces. Not the UN but a new force that has a clear and decisive mission to increase world stability. Every participant will contribute equally despite wealth or size. This new world police force will carry out the suppression of violent conflicts that kill non-military populations. It will carry out the clear will of the majority within the country that requests assistants. Political, financial, religious, corporate and other like agendas will not be the mission, simple humanitarian suppression of violence will be the single driving force and mission.
8) Talks and Negotiations – We need to employ and open door policy in terms making our president available for any other leader to meet with 24/7. The idea that our current president is unwilling to sit down with people like the current Cuban president is insane. I believe that it is fear that limits our current presidents ability to get together with other world leaders and work toward a better relationship or world order. It is always worthwhile to meet in person and discuss openly what positive objectives can be achieved or at least considered. We have to stop taking the position that US policy is the only policy and that policy must be forced upon the world. It is this attitude that creates American haters and killers. I believe our current president and administration acted out of pure guttural fear when they decided to invade Iraq and impose all the silly things they develop post 911. Fear is something that cannot be allowed to exist in the White house. It is the most important job of the president to remain calm in the face of attacks or difficult times. The president cannot overreact to isolated incidents and lose sight of the greater objectives.
9) Ready to go face to face - I would vow to meet with anyone and everyone that could in anyway increase our standing or anyone’s standing in the world or in quality of life. With your support I would immediately meet with Cuba, and any other person or country that could improve American quality of life or others quality of life which intern improves our quality of life. I would even meet with Osama Bin Laden. You may think this is crazy but the old adage, “Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer” it very true. We could learn a lot from a better understanding of what drives people like Osama Bin Laden. Aren’t you curious why he is after us? One thing I think we have to understand is that logic dictates that if people like OBL are still in power and still alive and protected, they are most likely not radical lunatics. Radical lunatics usually get taken out and don’t get away with continued support and success. I would wager that OBL has pretty good reasons to hate America and want to harm us. Again, I ask that you put yourself in his shoes. America imposes its will on everyone and anyone for political or profitable gain yet all in the name of safety and world stability. Nothing makes a situation more un-stable than a bully throwing its weight around. A bully can kick some serious butt and inflict some serious damage but sooner or later and continually, that bully will get stabbed in the back with sneak attacks. Lets not bully so much and lets get those sneak attackers in front of us and lets try and meet with them and understand what we can do to diffuse them, logically there is no other way.
10) Might and Right - Might won't get things right and this has been proven over and over to Americans. As much as some of us think we can just turn up the whoop ass campaign to maximum and get everyone that gives us any trouble to cooperate or simply vaporize them, this just does not work, we tried it a few times.
